In Ust-Tsilma they say, "The mountain is beautified with sarafans when there are a hundred in circle and a hundred more outside the circle". This is not surprising. For almost 500 years, Krasnaya Gorka (Beautiful Mountain) has been the main ritual holiday here - celebrated from Ivan's to Peter's Day (from the 7th through the 12th of July according to the modern calendar). According to Russian folklore specialists, Ust-Tsilma is the only place where the unique medieval Russian holiday of pre-haymaking round dances has survived to the present day.

Although the Soviet authorities considered Krasnaya Gorka to be a religious holiday - and therefore forbidden, they failed to eradicate it. Nowadays, Krasnaya Gorka hosts not only people coming from neighboring villages, but also those originally from Ust-Tsilma who reside in other areas. Apart from fellow countrymen and scientists, tourists and those love ethnographic exotica come to the village on Krasnaya Gorka Day.
