The National Drama Art and Music Theatre created in 1992 is one of the most interesting and original in Russia. The theatre’s company includes an ethno-folkloric ensemble called “Parma” and who perform native komi songs while playing local instruments. All the shows are performed in Komi language an simultaneously translated to Russian.

The theatre specializes in musical and folkloric productions in the Komi language. The troupe's style can be characterized by its ability to improvise, flexibility, romanticism and the use of traditional Komi musical instruments. The theatre also provides a venue for a traditional "Divine Sparkle" festival, whose participants include amateur and professional theatrical groups from the Finno-Ugric areas of Russia, as well as from Finland. Estonia and Hungary.
