Udora Region Today

Population: 18,104 thousand persons (according to Komistat for January 1, 2016)

Udora region is located in the northwest of the Komi Republic , in basins of the Mezen and Vashka rivers. Indigenous Komi people make up 40 percent from all the population.
The main riches of the region are forests that make up 90.3% of the whole area. There are 27 types of berries; about 50 species of plants. Elks, bears, martens, deer, muskrats, ermines live in the taiga forests. The rivers are rich with salmon, whitefish, grayling, bream, perch, pike.
