Ust-Tsilma Region Today

Ust-Tsilma Region is located in northwest part of the Komi Republic . It borders with the Nenets Autonomous, Udora , Izhma, Usinsk and Arkhangelsk regions.
The considerable territory of the region (45%) is covered with forests, but the most part of the region is occupied by bushes.
The region is situated in the tundra zone, the fourth part of the region lies beyond the Arctic Circle .
The region was formed on July 15, 1929. In 2005 the municipality included 37 rural settlements.
Main types of economy - production and processing of agricultural materials, fishery, oil production and natural gas.
